On Tuesday, the concept of storage declined, with SanDisk (SNDK.US) falling nearly 3%, Western Digital Corporation (WDC.US) falling nearly 2%, Seagate Technology Holdings PLC (STX.US) falling nearly 1%, and Micron Technology, Inc. (MU.US) briefly turning green. In terms of news, the well-known short-selling agency Citron announced that it is shorting SanDisk, indicating that the current prosperity of the memory chip market is a "supply illusion." Citron further stated that the market is pricing SanDisk based on the logic of NVIDIA Corporation, but there is a fatal flaw: NVIDIA Corporation has a moat, while SanDisk only sells commodities. Memory chips are fundamentally a cyclical industry, and cycles will eventually peak.
