Most chip stocks are rising.
On Thursday, most chip stocks rose. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR (TSM.US) fell by 0.8% to $302.61. TSMC's net profit in Q3 was 452.3 billion Taiwanese dollars, a 39% increase year-on-year, exceeding the estimated 405.47 billion Taiwanese dollars. The gross profit margin in the third quarter was 59.5%, an improvement from the previous quarter's 58.6% and higher than analysts' estimated 57.1%.
NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) rose by over 1.2%, Micron Technology, Inc. (MU.US) rose by over 5%, ASML Holding NV ADR (ASML.US) rose by over 1.4%, Marvell Technology, Inc. (MRVL.US) rose by over 1%, and AMD (AMD.US) rose by 0.8%.
