Meituan's app Keeta is now available in the United Arab Emirates!
On the morning of September 27th local time, Meituan's international food delivery brand Keeta officially launched its operation in Dubai, UAE. This is the third Middle Eastern food delivery market that Keeta has expanded into within 40 days, following the launches in Qatar in August and Kuwait in September. UAE has also become the fourth strategic point for Meituan's international business in the Gulf region, and it is reported that preparations for Keeta's launch in the capital city Abu Dhabi are also underway. Dubai is the most populous city in the UAE and a core hub for economy and finance in the Middle East. With high food delivery penetration, well-established market infrastructure, and strong demand for high-quality food delivery services, Dubai is a high-value market with both high consumption power and strong demand scenarios. Since officially entering Saudi Arabia in the Middle East in September 2024, Keeta has been operating for over a year, continuously providing convenient and reliable delivery services, diverse product choices, and affordable prices for local users. Keeta has gradually become one of the most popular food delivery platforms in the region, contributing to the long-term development of merchants, riders, and other partners. After a year of patient expansion and localization experience in the Saudi market, Meituan's international business in the Middle Eastern food delivery market has entered an accelerated landing phase. On August 19th this year, Keeta launched in Qatar; on September 15th, Keeta entered Kuwait; and now, it has expanded into the UAE. Additionally, Dubai is the first overseas site for Meituan's drone delivery service, Keeta Drone. Since the end of 2024, Keeta Drone has obtained the BVLOS drone delivery commercial operation certificate from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and has started regular operations on multiple flight routes in Dubai, providing flying delivery services for a variety of goods such as food, drinks, desserts, and medicines. After launching in the UAE, Keeta will work together with Keeta Drone to construct a dual fulfillment network of "ground + low altitude", achieving synchronized development across multiple scenarios and formats. This is also a practical application of Meituan's "retail + technology" strategy in international development.
