This special rectification action will focus on rectifying online chaos such as illegal profit-making, exaggeration, false advertising, malicious defamation, and attacks, improve the quality and effectiveness of handling online chaos of automobile-related companies, urge companies to regulate marketing and advertising behaviors, create a favorable public opinion environment, and safeguard the high-quality development of the automobile industry.
On September 10, in order to implement the deployment requirements of the State Council Executive Meeting on effectively regulating the competition order in the new energy vehicle industry, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Central Committee for Social Work, the Central Cyberspace Administration, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Public Security, and the State Administration of Market Regulation recently jointly issued the "Notice on Carrying out Special Rectification Campaign for Internet Chaos in the Automotive Industry", and decided to carry out a nationwide special rectification campaign for internet chaos in the automotive industry for a period of three months. This special rectification campaign will focus on cracking down on illegal profiteering, exaggeration and false advertising, malicious defamation and attacks, etc., to improve the quality and effectiveness of dealing with internet chaos in automotive enterprises, urge enterprises to standardize marketing and advertising practices, create a favorable public opinion environment, and safeguard the high-quality development of the automotive industry. The key issues to be addressed in this special campaign include: 1. Illegal profiteering issues, such as spreading false information, manipulating sales data, and using influence to extort protection fees from automotive enterprises. 2. Exaggeration and false advertising, including deceiving consumers with misleading information about the performance and quality of vehicles and components. 3. Malicious defamation and attacks, aimed at damaging the reputation of competitors and spreading false or negative information. The Notice emphasizes the need to strengthen organizational leadership and coordination, conduct self-inspections, report irregularities, and crack down on internet chaos in the automotive industry. It also calls for the closure and public exposure of media accounts involved in such activities, as well as the investigation and punishment of companies and individuals behind the scenes. Local departments of industry and information technology, social work, cyberspace administration, development and reform, public security, and market regulation are required to enhance their leadership and coordination, while online platforms are urged to improve their self-regulation and content moderation measures to prevent the spread of false information. Industry associations are encouraged to promote self-discipline within the industry, and automotive companies are urged to resist internet chaos and work together to clean up the online environment in the automotive industry.
