Earlier, U.S. lawmakers called for advanced chips exported by the U.S. to be equipped with "tracking and locating" capabilities. American AI experts revealed that NVIDIA Corporation's compute chips' "tracking and locating" and "remote shutdown" technologies are mature. In order to safeguard the network security and data security of Chinese users, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Cybersecurity Law, Data Security Law, and Personal Information Protection Law, the Cyberspace Administration of China held a meeting with NVIDIA Corporation on July 31, 2025, demanding that the company explain and submit relevant evidence regarding the security risks of backdoors in the H20 compute chips sold to China.
