On July 21st, the National Energy Administration released data on the total electricity consumption in June. In June, the total electricity consumption was 867 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 5.4% compared to the same period last year. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 13.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 4.9%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 548.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 3.2%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 175.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 9.0%; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' daily life was 129.1 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 10.8%. From January to June, the total electricity consumption accumulated to 484.18 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 3.7% compared to the same period last year, with the industrial electricity generation for enterprises above a certain scale reaching 453.71 billion kilowatt-hours. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 67.6 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.7%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 314.85 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 2.4%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 91.64 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 7.1%; and the electricity consumption for urban and rural residents' daily life was 70.93 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 4.9%.
