NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) officially launched the Blackwell Ultra AI chip. CoreWeave (CRWV.US) and Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C (DELL.US) are the first to deploy the GB300 NVL72 system.

The global AI computing power competition has reached another important milestone. NVIDIA Corporation's latest generation of artificial intelligence chips, the Blackwell Ultra AI GPU, is now officially in commercial use. On Thursday local time, cloud computing company CoreWeave, in partnership with Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C, announced the deployment of the first NVIDIA Corporation GB300 NVL72 AI systems in their cloud services, which are now available to customers. Peter Salanki, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of CoreWeave, said in a press release, "We are proud to be the first to operate this groundbreaking platform at scale and deliver it to AI innovators to help them build the next generation of artificial intelligence applications." Established in 2017, CoreWeave focuses on providing large-scale Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) services through the cloud. With the sharp increase in global demand for AI computing power, CoreWeave has become a key channel for startups and established institutions to acquire high-performance computing resources. The deployed system uses Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C liquid-cooled servers, with 72 NVIDIA Corporation Blackwell Ultra GPUs and 36 Arm-based NVIDIA Corporation Grace CPUs. CoreWeave plans to continue expanding the deployment scale of Blackwell Ultra servers this year to meet the growing AI computing demands of customers. Arthur Lewis, President of the Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C, noted, "Today, we take another important step in enterprise AI development, becoming the first vendor to deliver the NVIDIA Corporation GB300 NVL72 system. This demonstrates Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C's commitment to providing cutting-edge technology to various industries and helping customers quickly expand their innovation capabilities." According to NVIDIA Corporation, the Blackwell Ultra is an upgraded version of the previous generation Blackwell, with a 50% performance improvement over its predecessor. Colette Kress, Chief Financial Officer of the company, revealed back in May that samples of the Blackwell Ultra GB300 NVL72 had already been sent to some customers, with official shipments expected to begin this quarter. NVIDIA Corporation's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, has also stated that transitioning from the Hopper architecture to Blackwell faced challenges of "complex upgrade" (from 8 GPUs per rack to 72 GPUs), but Blackwell Ultra is highly similar in architecture to Blackwell, with the same 72 GPU configuration, making the migration process smoother. With the continuous expansion of AI infrastructure, Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C has become a leading manufacturer in the AI computing and server fields, with customers including CoreWeave and xAI, a company under Elon Musk, who is rapidly building their own AI model training platform. As of Thursday's closing, NVIDIA Corporation's stock price rose by 1.33%, reaching a new all-time high intraday; CoreWeave (CRWV.US) rose by 8.85%, and Dell Technologies, Inc. Class C (DELL.US) rose by 1.41%.
