According to a securities filing submitted on Friday, Google has purchased nearly 3 million shares of chipmaker Qualcomm, representing less than 0.5% of Qualcomm's total share capital. As Qualcomm aggressively enters the AI data center market, this investment will give Google exposure to Qualcomm's business. The filing shows that the search giant spent approximately $548 million to buy 2,976,982 Qualcomm shares. In addition, Google also holds shares in chip design company Arm and has reached a stock agreement worth up to $12.2 billion with chip design company Marvell, with the two parties collaborating to develop Google's self-developed AI chipthe Tensor Processing Unit.
