Energy supply during this winter's heating season will generally be able to meet demand.
At a press conference held by the National Development and Reform Commission on November 6, reporters learned that energy supply during this winter's heating season will generally be able to meet demand, ensuring that the people can stay warm through the winter. As of the end of October, coal stockpiles at nationally coordinated power plants across the country exceeded 210 million tons, sufficient for 36 days of use. During this winter's heating season, the daily peak-shaving natural gas supply capacity exceeds 1.75 billion cubic meters, nearly 70 million cubic meters higher than the peak gas consumption of the previous heating season. On the electricity front, the national maximum electricity load during the heating season is expected to reach approximately 1.52 billion kilowatts, an increase of about 90 million kilowatts over the peak of the previous heating season. Installed capacity of conventional power sources has increased by about 100 million kilowatts year on year, and the overall improvement in power supply capacity will be able to support demand growth.
