American voters went to the polls on Tuesday to render judgment on the turbulent first two years of President Donald Trump's second term; voting has already ended in North Carolina, Ohio and Georgia, all three of which have high-stakes Senate races. Preliminary vote counts may offer some clues to the final outcome of the U.S. midterm elections. During this election, voters' dissatisfaction with the high cost of living has been a focal point, including fuel prices that surged after the United States and Israel went to war with Iran. According to Decision Desk HQ projections, Senator Jon Ossoff will win. Ossoff rose to prominence within the Democratic Party by delivering speeches attacking Trump for using public office for personal gain. Although his victory only allows Democrats to hold on to an existing seat, it also increases the party's chances of capturing control of the Senate. DDHQ also projected that Democrats Cory Booker and Chris Pappas will win Senate elections in New Jersey and New Hampshire, respectively. In addition, according to NBC, incumbent Democratic Representative Kathy Castor is expected to win the election in Florida's 14th Congressional District.
