Apple display suppliers are developing a new process.
According to reports, Apple display suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display are developing new OLED panel manufacturing processes. Sources say Apple currently prioritizes the use of the existing sputtering process to produce display panels based on high-mobility oxide technology. To this end, Samsung Display and LG Display are respectively developing new atomic layer deposition and sputtering process solutions in order to apply the relevant technologies to actual production lines. According to reports, this manufacturing process upgrade is expected to bring improvements in multiple aspects, among which an important change is enhancing the luminous brightness of individual pixels in OLED panels, thereby improving the overall screen brightness performance, while also expected to improve display contrast. If the relevant technologies are successfully mass-produced, the screen display performance of future iPhones and iPads may be further enhanced.
