Wang Yi Holds Meetings and Talks with Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, and Alban, National Security Advisor of Saudi Arabia, Respectively

On November 2, Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, met with Ali Bagheri Kani, Deputy Secretary of Irans Supreme National Security Council, and held talks with Saudi Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Advisor Musaad bin Mohammed Al-Aiban in Beijing. When meeting with Bagheri, Wang Yi said the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is spilling over, and dialogue and negotiation are the way out. China is ready to uphold a series of initiatives and propositions put forward by President Xi Jinping on easing the situation in the Middle East, and work with all parties to make continued effort for restoring peace in the region. China supports Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty and security and is willing to promote the continuous development of China-Iran relations. Bagheri said Iran appreciates the initiatives and propositions put forward by President Xi Jinping and Chinas consistent position of upholding multilateralism, and expects China to play a greater role in international and regional peace. During the talks with Al-Aiban, Al-Aiban handed over a letter from Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to President Xi Jinping on the development of bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest. Wang Yi said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Saudi Arabia relations have maintained a sound momentum of development. China is ready to work with Saudi Arabia to make new progress in bilateral relations. Wang Yi noted that the current regional situation has once again come to a critical crossroads of war and peace, and it is hoped that all parties will resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation. China is willing to uphold the series of initiatives and propositions put forward by President Xi Jinping and communicate and coordinate with all parties including Saudi Arabia.
