ByteDance's Tomato Novel to invest over 1 billion yuan in content creation by 2027

Tomato Novel held its Creator Conference in Hangzhou today, announcing that it will invest more than 1 billion yuan in dedicated resources in 2027, covering a ten-million-level writing contest, an innovative creation fund, a full-cycle training system for newcomers, and ten-million-yuan copyright incentives, to support the incubation of innovative themes and multi-format IP derivatives. Currently, the platform hosts more than 3 million writers, with 30,000 works entering the film and television development pipeline during the year and more than 50,000 completing audio recording; total monthly revenue from short comic drama adaptation licensing exceeded 200 million yuan; it has cumulatively rejected more than 460,000 low-quality works, continuing to advance the premiumization of online literature.
