Zhitong Finance APP has learned that Julia Leung, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, said at Hong Kong FinTech Week that the scale and pace of AI adoption by Hong Kong financial intermediaries are steadily increasing, and cautioned that the development of frontier models and agentic AI may outpace the cycles of traditional regulatory assessment and standard-setting. Therefore, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission must collaborate with the industry and other regulators to identify and respond to relevant risks more flexibly.
