HKMA announces four fintech initiatives covering AI agents and cross-border payments, among others.

Zhitong Finance APP has learned that the Hong Kong FinTech Week kicked off, and Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, announced four key fintech developments and new measures, including the launch of "Project Sage" to explore agentic finance; the launch of a post-quantum cryptography toolkit in collaboration with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; the expansion of tokenization applications; and the enhancement of cross-border payment convenience for the Faster Payment System.
