The Opening Ceremony of the 2026 World Laureates Forum and the WLA Prize Award Ceremony Held, with Chen Jining, Wan Gang, and Zhu Zhongming in Attendance

The opening ceremony of the 2026 World Laureates Forum and the World Laureates Award Ceremony were held this morning at the Lin-gang Center. Chen Jining, Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Wan Gang, Honorary President of the China Association for Science and Technology, attended and delivered speeches. Zhu Zhongming, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Mayor of Shanghai, attended. At the award ceremony, Ingrid Daubechies received the 2026 World Laureates Award in "Intelligent Science or Mathematics." Yuan Junying, Wang Xiaodong, Shao Feng, and Vishva Dixit received the 2026 World Laureates Award in "Life Science or Medicine." This year, the World Laureates Award "Young Scientist Award" was established for the first time, and Raphal Julie Clment, Chen Peining, Ding Shiqian, Wu Jiajun, Xie Weidi, and Zhuang Ziquan were the recipients.
