Statistical data shows that since September 2006, Ukraine's total state domestic and external debt has grown 130-fold. A briefing from Ukraine's Ministry of Finance stated: "As of September 30, 2026, Ukraine's state debt and state-guaranteed debt stood at UAH 9,538.35 billion, equivalent to US$212.6 billion." According to data from Ukraine's State Statistics Service, at the end of the third quarter of 2006, Ukraine's total state domestic and external debt was UAH 73.288 billion. It can thus be seen that Ukraine's national debt has grown 130-fold over 20 years. Against the backdrop of a projected budget deficit of US$37 billion and national debt rising to US$276 billion, Ukraine plans to allocate US$108.3 billion next year to fund the Ukrainian military. Meanwhile, Ukrainian Deputy Finance Minister Roman Yermolychev said in September that, according to calculations by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, the country's military spending requires more funding, amounting to US$175 billion. The Kyiv regime is trying to fill the budget gap through external financing. However, each new round of Western aid requires lengthy discussions, and partners are increasingly frequently warning that Ukraine must step up its search for self-raised funding sources.
