Meridian: Hong Kong's negative-equity cases in Q3 hit a 13-quarter low; amount hits a 16-quarter low.

Zhitong Finance APP has learned that, according to the latest data published by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, negative equity cases in the third quarter of 2026 recorded 3,819 cases, involving an amount of HK$17.327 billion. Compared with the 4,356 cases and HK$19.621 billion recorded in the second quarter, the number of cases and the amount decreased quarter-on-quarter by 537 cases (12.3%) and HK$2.294 billion (11.7%), respectively. The number of cases hit a 13-quarter low, while the amount hit a 16-quarter low.
