US Department of Energy: Companies will borrow 16.75 million barrels of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, down from a previously planned 17 million barrels. Five companies are receiving loans of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve, including Trafigura, Gunvor and Vitol.

Amazon (AMZN.O) spent more than $77 billion on property and equipment in the third quarter, far exceeding analyst expectations. The company is continuing to push forward with data center construction to meet growing demand for artificial intelligence services. This spending resulted in negative free cash flow of $42.4 billion for the company. Amazon also reported that revenue grew 12% year over year to $201.9 billion. Although sales growth at its cloud computing unit Amazon Web Services (AWS) accelerated for the sixth consecutive quarter, signs of sluggish growth in its core online business are also beginning to emerge. Amazon also expanded its data center scale, enhancing its ability to provide computing power to enterprise customers. Amazon said in July that, affected by tight supply of memory chips limiting availability, the company's capital expenditure in 2026 could reach $220 billion, higher than previously forecast.
