Citing two people familiar with the matter, foreign media reported that U.S. oil giants Exxon Mobil (XOM.N) and Chevron (CVX.N) have canceled plans for executives to travel to the UAE next week to attend the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) due to security concerns. Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods and Chevron upstream head Clay Neff had been scheduled to attend. Conference organizer DMG said more than 120 U.S. companies are exhibiting this year, but the two companies are no longer included in the list of U.S. industry speakers it provided.
