eToro analyst Josh Gilbert said SK Hynix's latest earnings report is expected to ease market concerns that growth in AI spending is about to hit a ceiling. Gilbert noted that the South Korean chip giant responded to investors' two biggest concerns by significantly raising shareholder returns and locking in more than half of its capacity for the next two years through long-term contracts. Although the memory industry has historically tended toward companies simultaneously over-expanding capacity, SK Hynix's performance this time has strengthened market confidence. He noted that the company's 80% operating margin demonstrates strong pricing power, which only emerges when customers are scrambling for supply. SK Hynix's largest customers are lining up to secure supply. If companies believed AI infrastructure buildout was about to stall, they would not sign five-year contracts.
