National Energy Administration: In January-September 2026, electricity traded in the national power market increased by 18.9% year-on-year.

Zhitong Finance APP has learned that on October 27, according to the National Energy Administration, in September 2026, power trading institutions across the country completed 673.7 billion kWh of traded electricity, up 17.5% year on year. By trading scope, intra-provincial traded electricity was 523.5 billion kWh, up 21.7% year on year; inter-provincial and cross-regional traded electricity was 150.2 billion kWh, up 5.0% year on year. By trading product, medium- and long-term traded electricity was 601.6 billion kWh; spot traded electricity was 72.1 billion kWh. Green electricity trading volume was 31 billion kWh, up 6.9% year on year. Market-based agency power purchases by grid enterprises were 65 billion kWh.
