In the future, once the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project is completed and put into operation, the Jinsha River water diverted from here will travel along more than 600 kilometers of main canals, crossing the Hengduan Mountains with complex geological conditions, and benefit approximately 15 million people along the route, fundamentally solving the water resource shortage problem in the central Yunnan region.
