Multiple-vehicle pileup on Peru's Central Highway leaves 2 dead, 9 injured

On October 23 local time, a multi-vehicle collision occurred at kilometer 57 of the Central Highway in San Bartolom District, Huarochir Province, Lima Region, Peru, killing 2 people and injuring 9 others, 2 of them seriously. The accident involved two sedans and a semi-trailer truck. The 2 deceased were both adults who were riding in a black sedan at the time, and their identities are still being confirmed. The 9 injured have been taken to Chosica Hospital for treatment. The specific cause of the accident has not yet been announced.
