Midday Review: ChiNext Index falls nearly 3% in the half-day session; motor and humanoid robot concept stocks buck the trend and rise
The three major A-share indices fell collectively in the morning session. As of midday, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.89%, the Shenzhen Component Index fell 1.78%, the ChiNext Index fell 2.77%, the Beijing Stock Exchange 50 rose 0.11%, and the STAR 50 Index fell 1.59%. Total market turnover was 927.8 billion yuan, a decrease of 20.8 billion yuan from the previous day, and more than 3,900 stocks across the market declined. By sector and theme, AI video, components, CPO, gaming, CRO, dyes, PCB, advanced packaging, and memory chip sectors led the declines; motor, construction machinery, securities, industrial machine tools, humanoid robots, and power grid equipment sectors performed relatively well. On the trading floor, heavyweight stocks in the ChiNext Index weakened again, with Eoptolink falling more than 10%, Zhongji Innolight falling more than 7%, and CATL falling nearly 3% in the morning session after closing down more than 12% yesterday. The AI video and cultural media sectors underwent significant adjustments, with Guomai Culture, Zhaoxun Media, and New Classic leading the declines. Optical fiber, PCB, components, and other computing power hardware stocks also performed poorly, with Huashengchang hitting the limit down, and Cambridge Technology, Lianxun Instruments, and Yuanjie Technology leading the declines. On the other hand, humanoid robot and motor sectors led the gains, with Daye Co. posting five consecutive limit-up days, and Yifan Drive, MOONS' Electric, Broad Ocean Motor, Saifutian, and Zhaowei Electromechanical hitting the limit up, catalyzed by positive news including Tesla CEO Musk saying humanoid robots will become the world's largest industry, Nvidia upgrading its Isaac robotics platform, and Unitree Robotics releasing a new humanoid robot.
