Meta faces class action lawsuit in Australia over alleged harm to children on social media

An Australian court has accepted a class action lawsuit against companies owned by Meta Platforms, alleging that these social media platforms exposed children to harmful content and used algorithms to make them addicted. This may be Australia's first lawsuit accusing social media of harming usersespecially children and adolescents. The class action was filed on behalf of eight plaintiffs, who claim they were harmed by Meta when they were under 18 and are seeking compensation.
