Cuba accuses the US of pressuring other countries in an attempt to influence the UN General Assembly vote on a Cuba-related resolution.
On October 21 local time, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodrguez held a press conference in Havana, accusing the U.S. government of pressuring other countries in an attempt to influence the upcoming vote on a UN General Assembly resolution concerning the blockade against Cuba. Rodrguez stated that the U.S. State Department, through means such as threatening to impose special tariffs, refusing to issue visas to officials of the countries concerned and their family members, and implementing sanctions, is forcing other countries to change their stance in support of Cuba. He said that U.S. Secretary of State Rubio personally exerted pressure in many cases. Rodrguez also held up relevant documents on site, stating that they can prove the U.S. side's coercive actions. Rodrguez simultaneously criticized the United States for continuously strengthening its energy blockade against Cuba.
