National Standard "In-Service Inspection and Test Methods for Electric Vehicle Traction Batteries" Released
The reporter learned today that the State Administration for Market Regulation recently issued the national standard "In-service Testing and Test Methods for Traction Batteries of Electric Vehicles," which will be officially implemented on March 1, 2027. The standard applies to the testing of in-service traction batteries of electric vehicles, covering application scenarios such as battery hazard identification, second-hand vehicle transactions, and functional testing. The standard specifies general test conditions for traction batteries under in-service conditions, defines test items including appearance, airtightness, insulation, and thermal management systems, and provides estimation methods for usable capacity retention rate and voltage and internal resistance consistency. The issuance of this standard addresses the lack of unified test methods for in-service testing of traction batteries in new energy vehicles, enhances the transparency of battery technical conditions and transaction information, safeguards consumer rights, promotes the standardized operation of the new energy vehicle aftermarket, and empowers the high-quality and sustainable development of the new energy vehicle industry through standardized testing and test methods.
