The UAE's leading aluminum company, hit by the war, has restored half of its smelter capacity.
Emirates Global Aluminium's flagship smelter was damaged in the conflict, and half of its capacity has now been restored; the Middle East's largest aluminium producer is still maintaining its target of achieving full capacity in the first quarter of next year. The company announced that 50% of the units at its Al Taweelah smelter in Abu Dhabi have been repaired and restarted. The restart progress at this core plant is crucial for metals traders, though a full recovery in sales also depends on whether the shipping disruption in the Strait of Hormuz can be eased.
