Urumqi Air apologizes for distributing expired instant noodles
On August 1, a Lucky Air flight from Urumqi to Chengdu was delayed for 4 hours due to weather conditions. Multiple netizens posted that on-site staff provided stranded passengers with meals that turned out to be expired instant noodles. Some reports said that regarding the distribution of expired instant noodles, staff stated that there were indeed some meals that did not meet standards, which were immediately retrieved after identification, and no passengers consumed them. While the airline carried out a service investigation, it gave each passenger affected by the meal issue 200 yuan in compensation. Urumqi Air was the ground service agent for this flight at Urumqi Tianshan International Airport. On October 20, Urumqi Air issued an "Announcement on Handling the Issue of Expired Meals in Urumqi Air's Delayed Flight Support": Regarding the distribution of expired meals when our company was providing support for a delayed flight on August 1, we express our deep apologies. At present, the company has fully completed traceability verification, serious accountability, and closed-loop rectification. We sincerely welcome supervision from all sectors of society.
