Meta Platforms (META.O) said on Saturday local time that the Instagram account of the "No Kings" movement was suspended during a campaign to promote early voting in the midterm elections across the United States because an automated system mistakenly triggered restrictive measures. The organization emerged last year in opposition to Trump's policy initiatives. A Meta spokesperson said that if an account posts, shares content, or comments at an "extremely high frequency," it may trigger a response from the automated system, "which is exactly what happened to the No Kings Instagram account on the eve of today's day of action. This automated measure was clearly triggered in error. Everything has now returned to normal, and we deeply apologize for this." No Kings said it hopes Meta will provide a more in-depth explanation and take immediate measures to ensure similar incidents do not happen again.
