According to Shanxi Daily, on October 10, the directly affiliated depot of the Provincial Grain Reserve opened its weighbridge first, as four grain trucks loaded with new corn drove into the depot area one after another, with weighing, sampling, and inspection proceeding in an orderly manner. Testing showed that this batch of grain was Grade 1, with an average moisture content of 13.5%, and all food safety indicators were qualified, as 132.22 tons of new grain were smoothly taken into storage. This marks the full launch of the province's autumn grain purchase work. As of October 15, enterprises included in the statistical reporting system across the province had purchased a cumulative 248,200 tons of new corn, accounting for 3.1% of the expected peak-season grain sales by farmers.
