From October 15 to 17, the 10th Future Network Development Conference was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu. Wang Xiyu, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of ZTE, pointed out in his speech that with the rapid development of AI large models and computing clusters, services in the data center domain, wide area domain, and aerospace domain are undergoing profound changes. Optical interconnection is accelerating its extension in two directions: ultra-short distance and ultra-long distance, with a single optical beam connecting all scenarios, and networks are facing entirely new development requirements. For data center domain scenarios, the gradual approach of optical components toward electrical chips is a notable trend in optical interconnection. NPO balances the advantages of openness, cost, and maintainability, and intra-node interconnection is the main scenario for NPO. Wang Xiyu stated that ZTE's new-generation data center network NPO solution is providing a better answer for AI Fabric and becoming a pioneer in the development of high-density bandwidth. For aerospace domain scenarios, he further pointed out that satellite laser communication is extending networks from the ground into space. In terms of bandwidth capability, ZTE is advancing commercial verification of spaceborne 100G/200G products, and core chips and optical components for 400G/800G are also under verification, which can meet the long-term evolution needs of spaceborne laser applications. In terms of product form, it supports "separable or combinable laser and routing" to adapt to the needs of different satellite platforms, and high-value scenarios of integrated space-ground networks are taking root.
