Kenya's Ministry of Health confirmed on October 16 a new case of Bundibugyo ebolavirus in the country, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to three. In a news bulletin released the same day, the ministry said the third patient is a 65-year-old woman who is a close relative and close contact of the first two patients. The patient had been under isolation observation since the 6th, during which she developed symptoms including fever, sore throat, and general malaise, and was subsequently placed in separate isolation and sampled for testing, with the test result coming back positive.
