Economic Daily: How Can the Right to Report Be Openly Priced?
Recently, media exposed an illegal "account targeting" industry chain on short-video platforms: 25 yuan can buy 500 batch reports, and a quote of 1,000 yuan can get an account taken down. This black-market chain has a clear division of labor, covering everything from taking orders and dispatching tasks to recruiting and training apprentices, and it also uses artificial intelligence to mass-forge reporting materials. Many creators are caught in a dilemma: either pay to "avert disaster," or watch their works be taken down and their accounts restricted. The original purpose of establishing the right to report was to let those whose rights have been harmed seek help in accordance with the rules, with platforms verifying and handling matters based on the facts. But when this public tool is openly priced and sold privately, the normal order of online communities will naturally be severely undermined.
