Ministry of Commerce: Minister Wang Wentao Meets with Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of France's Danone Group

On October 12, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met with Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of Danone Group. The two sides exchanged views on topics including Danone Group's development in China and China-EU and China-France economic and trade relations. Wang Wentao said that China is steadfastly expanding high-level opening up, its consumer market is continuously growing, and its consumption structure is steadily upgrading, providing broad space for foreign-funded enterprises to develop in China. He welcomed Danone Group to expand investment and innovative R&D in China and provide more high-quality products and services to both the Chinese and international markets. Recently, the second regular meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism reached a series of outcomes and consensus, stabilizing industry expectations. He expressed the hope that Danone Group will play a positive role in the development of China-EU and China-France economic and trade relations. Antoine de Saint-Affrique said that Danone Group is optimistic about the prospects of the Chinese market, will continue to increase investment in China and the development of new products, and is willing to contribute to EU-China and France-China economic and trade cooperation.
