According to information from the International Organization for Migration on October 11, a migrant boat carrying 350 people capsized off the coast of Djibouti, causing at least 109 deaths, with at least 116 others missing. According to survivors, the boat was traveling from Djibouti to Yemen and capsized on the night of October 8 to 9 near Gouhre, north of Obock. More than 80 people survived the accident, all of whom are Ethiopian nationals. The International Organization for Migration is providing assistance to the survivors. The Djibouti government and the International Organization for Migration are still continuing search and rescue operations.
