John Lee: The opening of the Huanggang Port has three important significances.
The new Huanggang Port will officially open and commence operation at 6:30 a.m. on October 12, providing 24-hour customs clearance services for passengers and passenger vehicles. Hong Kong and Shenzhen held an opening ceremony this morning in the Shenzhen side port area. In his speech, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive John Lee said that the opening of Huanggang Port has three important significances, including reflecting the implementation of national planning, practicing institutional innovation, and promoting cross-border flows. John Lee pointed out that the original Huanggang Port is about to complete its historical mission. The rebuilt new Huanggang Port will officially open tomorrow, and customs clearance will be faster and more convenient. This project is a landmark project jointly built and shared by Hong Kong and Shenzhen through concerted efforts, and an important milestone in the connectivity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. As transport links between Hong Kong and Shenzhen are further strengthened, the flow of people, goods, capital, and information between the two places will be more efficient, further promoting the deep integration of the Greater Bay Area.
