Guo Caiwu, former member of the Standing Committee of the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee and former head of the United Front Work Department of Guangdong Province, has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office.

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission reported on October 10 that, according to the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Provincial Supervisory Commission: with the approval of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Provincial Supervisory Commission has opened a case for review and investigation into serious violations of discipline and law by Guo Caiwu, former member of the Standing Committee of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee of Guangdong Province and former head of the United Front Work Department. Upon investigation, Guo Caiwu lost his ideals and convictions, betrayed his original aspiration and mission, and resisted organizational review; violated the spirit of the Central Eight-Point Regulation by accepting gifts and cash gifts in violation of regulations and accepting banquets that could affect the fair execution of official duties; violated organizational principles by failing to report personal matters as required, failing to truthfully explain issues during organizational inquiries, and improperly seeking benefits for others and accepting property in work such as cadre promotion and employee recruitment; failed to uphold the bottom line of integrity by giving gifts in violation of regulations, engaging in profit-making activities in violation of regulations, using his authority to seek benefits for relatives, and purchasing housing at an improperly low price; and, driven by expanding greed, used the convenience of his position and the conveniences formed by his authority and status to seek benefits for others in areas such as project contracting and illegally accepted huge amounts of property. Guo Caiwu seriously violated the Party's political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, and life discipline, constituted a serious violation of duty and is suspected of the crime of bribery. Moreover, after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, he did not restrain himself or stop, and the nature is serious with vile influence, so he should be dealt with severely. In accordance with relevant provisions such as the Regulations on Disciplinary Action of the Communist Party of China, the Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Law of the People's Republic of China on Administrative Discipline for Public Officials, and after study by the Standing Committee Meeting of the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and approval by the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, it was decided to give Guo Caiwu the sanction of expulsion from the Party; the Guangdong Provincial Supervisory Commission shall give him the sanction of expulsion from public office; terminate his qualification as a delegate to the ninth Party Congress of Zhuhai City; confiscate his illegal and disciplinary gains; and transfer the issue of his suspected crime to the procuratorial organ for review and prosecution in accordance with law, with the property involved transferred together.
