Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission Chief Executive Officer Julia Leung said in a speech at the Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA) conference on Friday that Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing will publish a discussion paper on extending trading hours in the fourth quarter. Over time, the use of tokenized money and e-HKD settlement methods could support longer trading hours. Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing will publish its consultation conclusions on T+1 settlement as soon as possible and set a target implementation date.

According to The Wall Street Journal, SpaceX has reached an agreement with investment firm Grain Management to acquire its mobile communications spectrum licenses for approximately $8 billion in cash. This is SpaceX's most aggressive move to date into the wireless communications market, which is still dominated by traditional telecom carriers. The acquisition involves spectrum licenses in the 800 MHz band in the United States, primarily suitable for providing wireless communications services through cell towers rather than satellites. These spectrum resources are expected to help SpaceX achieve its established goal of expanding its Starlink satellite service from broadband into the wireless communications market and competing with carriers such as AT&T and Verizon.
