Tokyo Electric Power Company of Japan started a new round of discharge of nuclear-contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant on the 5th. This is the 6th round in fiscal year 2026 and the 24th round overall. It is reported that this round of nuclear-contaminated water discharge is expected to last until the 23rd of this month, with a total discharge volume of about 7,800 tons and a total amount of radioactive tritium of about 1.2 trillion becquerels. Materials previously released by Tokyo Electric Power Company show that the company plans to discharge nuclear-contaminated water 8 times in fiscal year 2026, with a total volume of about 62,400 tons.
