The command of the Saudi-led multinational coalition stated in a release that the coalition will continue to provide comprehensive operational support to the Yemeni government and its armed forces in order to "restore the state." Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki accused the Houthi armed group of deliberately and systematically attacking civilians and civilian facilities in multiple Saudi cities, including Riyadh, and of attempting to attack the cities of Mecca and Medina, as well as trying to attack Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. He stated that the coalition will continue to take necessary measures to curb the Houthis' hostile actions and safeguard Saudi Arabia's security and sovereignty. Al-Maliki stressed that Saudi Arabia will take relevant operational measures to respond to Houthi attacks and eliminate the threat they pose to freedom of navigation in the southern Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. He said such threats endanger not only regional and international security, but also international trade, the global economy, and the interests of all countries.
