The International Energy Agency recently issued an announcement showing that of the 400 million barrels of strategic petroleum reserves it announced plans to release in March this year, about 325 million barrels have been released so far. IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol attended a video conference of G7 leaders convened by French President Macron on the 2nd to discuss the situation in the global energy market. Birol said at the meeting that the strategic petroleum reserves already released account for more than 80% of the total pledged. Under the current circumstances, the above measures have played an important role in filling the supply gap and stabilizing market confidence.
