Guizhou Qinglong reports on the "24 Zigzags charging controversy"
On the evening of October 2, the Culture, Sports, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau of Qinglong County, Guizhou Province, issued a notice regarding the situation reported by netizens concerning charges at the Twenty-Four Turns Scenic Area: The Twenty-Four Turns Anti-Japanese War Highway is a major national cultural heritage site and a national 4A-level tourist attraction, and is a well-known cultural landmark of the War of Resistance Against Japan. In order to better protect the original appearance of the highway and the cultural relics themselves, the Provincial Highway Bureau built a new 6-kilometer road section beside the route from the First Turn to the Twenty-Fourth Turn as the main traffic route of National Highway 320. Since then, the Twenty-Four Turns no longer serves as a main road traffic route. In accordance with the Price Law of the People's Republic of China, the Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China and other laws and regulations, the scenic area has set a ticket price of 60 yuan per person and a sightseeing bus ticket price of 50 yuan per person. The ticket fee is mainly for the exhibition hall experience and the sightseeing experience at the Twenty-Four Turns viewing platform; the sightseeing bus fee is a paid internal transportation service item and is voluntarily chosen by visitors. Tourists may also walk for free along the original site of the Twenty-Four Turns for sightseeing and touring experiences. All charged items are publicly displayed in prominent locations such as the scenic area entrance and the visitor service center. At present, the scenic area is carrying out upgrading and renovation work on the exhibition hall and is implementing a policy of waiving scenic area admission tickets.
