Four astronauts took a ship and arrived quickly at the International Space Station in eight hours, setting a U.S. spaceflight speed record and docking with the station on Thursday. The launch was delayed by three weeks to fix a fuel system leak on the Dragon spacecraft, after which SpaceX launched the crew led by Jessica Watkins for NASA. Throughout the morning, thick clouds had threatened to halt the countdown, but the weather eventually improved and the spacecraft lifted off safely. Although they will stay on the International Space Station for a long six months, the flight time to the station this time set a new record, not only the fastest for Elon Musk's company but also the fastest for all U.S. space agencies, including NASA. The favorable position of the space station at launch contributed to this rapid rendezvous.
