Recently, the Office of the National Commission for Disaster Prevention, Reduction and Relief and the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the China Meteorological Administration, the National Energy Administration, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and other departments and units, held a joint consultation meeting to assess and deliberate on the national natural disaster risk situation for October 2026 and the National Day holiday. Comprehensive analysis suggests that in October, parts of Central China, South China, and Southwest China will face relatively high risks of floods and wind-hail disasters, and some small and medium-sized rivers may experience above-warning-level floods; one to two typhoons may make landfall or significantly affect China; localized areas in North China, Northeast China, East China, Central China, Southwest China, and Northwest China will have relatively high forest fire danger ratings, while parts of Inner Mongolia, Qinghai, and Xinjiang will have relatively high grassland fire danger ratings; parts of North China, East China, Central South China, Southwest China, and Northwest China will face relatively high geological disaster risks; and parts of Northwest China and Inner Mongolia may experience periodic drought. During the National Day holiday, close attention should be paid to risks such as floods, wind-hail disasters, forest and grassland fires, and geological disasters.
