Papua New Guinea police bust a scam and human trafficking den; Chinese citizens detained; Chinese embassy issues reminder.

Recently, Papua New Guinea (PNG) police busted a telecom fraud and human trafficking den, and Chinese citizens were detained. The Chinese Embassy in PNG attaches great importance to protecting the safety and lawful rights and interests of Chinese citizens in PNG, and has been pushing the PNG side to crack down on all types of criminal activities including telecom fraud. The Embassy once again reminds Chinese citizens to strengthen safety precautions, be cautious in making friends, do not easily trust others, and do not casually disclose personal privacy; stay highly vigilant against "overseas high-paying job" traps and do not engage in illegal telecom fraud activities. If you find that you or people around you may be involved in abnormal situations such as telecom fraud or illegal detention in PNG, please report to the police of both China and PNG as soon as possible, and promptly seek assistance from the Chinese Embassy in PNG.
