The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and six other departments jointly issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the New-Type Battery Industry." The Plan calls for improving the recycling system. It calls for implementing the extended producer responsibility system, pushing enterprises to establish, through self-built or commissioned methods, waste battery recycling systems that match product sales volumes, accelerating the construction and operation of waste battery recycling service outlets, supporting the R&D and industrial application of technologies and equipment for refined dismantling of new-type batteries, low-cost utilization, and efficient extraction of valuable elements, raising the level of refinement and automation in processes such as dismantling, crushing, sorting, and smelting of waste batteries, and promoting the efficient utilization of renewable resources.
