A strategic fuel reserve depot in central Sudan was attacked by drones.

On September 27 local time, the security department of the Gezira State government in central Sudan stated that a strategic fuel depot on the outskirts of Wad Madani, the state capital, was attacked by a drone belonging to the Rapid Support Forces in the early morning of that day, sparking a large fire. Firefighters are currently carrying out firefighting operations, and the casualties and material losses caused by the attack remain unclear. The Rapid Support Forces have not yet responded to the attack. The strategic fuel depot that was attacked is located about 20 kilometers northeast of Wad Madani and is one of Sudan's most important strategic fuel storage facilities, responsible for ensuring the supply of gasoline, diesel, and other fuels to Gezira State and surrounding areas. On April 15, 2023, armed conflict broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital, Khartoum, and the fighting subsequently spread to other areas. The armed conflict, which has lasted for more than three years, has caused at least 59,000 deaths.
