Merz-led CDU/CSU bloc's approval rating falls to lowest since parliamentary election period

A latest poll released by Germany on September 27 shows that the approval rating of the CDU/CSU alliance led by German Chancellor Merz has dropped to 19%, the lowest level since the current federal parliamentary election cycle, 10 percentage points behind the AfD. According to the latest "Sunday Trend" survey conducted by the polling institute INSA, the approval rating of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) stands at 29%, unchanged; the approval ratings of the Social Democratic Party and the Green Party are 14% and 15% respectively, both up 1 percentage point; the approval rating of the Left Party is 10%, down 1 percentage point. The combined approval rating of the Social Democratic Party, the Green Party, and the Left Party reaches 39%, the highest value for this three-party combination since the current election cycle.
